NoviTec to Build New Plant in Franklin

Joe DiGiuseppe, President of NoviTec Industries, Inc. announced that his company will expand their operations in Franklin, Kentucky by building a new 27,000 square foot manufacturing facility in the Wilkey North Industrial Park located on Highway 31-W in Franklin.  The new facility will double the manufacturing capacity for NoviTec Industries.  The company is expected to add thirty new jobs over the next two years at their new facility.  NoviTec currently employs fifty people at their present location at 1871 Industrial By-Pass North in Franklin.

Company president Joe DiGiuseppe said, “Increased business from the automotive sector was a primary factor in our need for additional manufacturing space.  Our sales are increasing each year and thanks to our employees, our productivity continues to be great.  The new facility will allow us to attract more customers and provide room for automated equipment and robotics.  We had offers from other towns in Kentucky and Tennessee to expand in their communities but thanks to the efforts of John Raines and Dennis Griffin with the Franklin-Simpson Industrial Authority we have decided to remain in Franklin and continue to grow in Simpson County.  I also want to thank Steve Thurmond, President of Citizens First Bank for his assistance in providing the financing for our new facility.”

NoviTec Industries was established in 1988 in South Union, Kentucky as JD Machine Company.  The business started as a small general machine shop making parts for knitting and sewing machines for Fruit of the Loom.  The company moved to Franklin in 1993.  NoviTec is a leader in computer controlled machining in Kentucky.  The company produces parts and components for companies around the nation in fields including automotive, aerospace, telecommunications and the military.  NoviTec produces parts for some of Franklin’s largest industries including Tyco Adhesives, New Mather Metals, Toyo and Silgan Plastics.  In 2004, Novitec Industries was recognized as the Small Industry of the Year in Franklin.

John Raines, Chairman of the Franklin-Simpson Industrial Authority stated that, “Novitec will be a great addition to our Wilkey North Industrial Park.  We are pleased that they will be providing more jobs for our community.  We are excited about their growth and the potential they have for the future.”

Construction on the 27,000 square foot building is expected to begin immediately while completion of the building is scheduled for May 2005.
